Your Directors:
Head Director
Mrs. McClung was born just outside of Seattle, Washington. Her first experience in theatre was when her 6th grade English teacher cast her as Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. On opening night she promptly forgot all her lines and ran off stage. Shortly after her memorable debut, her family moved to Frisco, Texas (a then small suburb with only one middle school). While attending Frisco High School Mrs. McClung tried many things including yearbook, drill team and theatre, but discovered theatre was her true calling.
Mrs. McClung attended the University of North Texas and took a broad range of courses, both acting and technical. This is where she discovered her true passion of directing. She directed numerous shows while at UNT including All in the Timing and Two Rooms.
When she graduated she began teaching in Celina, TX at the Middle School level. She started the Celina Middle School theatre program and helped lead them to a win at their first UIL OAP competition. She also assisted with some of the high school productions, including choreography and fight choreography for Peter Pan. After two years in Celina, she was offered a job at Vandeventer Middle School where she opened the school and began the brand new Viking Theatre Department. While at Vandeventer she began her Masters Degree in Theatre which is obtained from the University of Houston in Winter 2017.
She met her husband during a production of Much Ado About Nothing while at Frisco High School (no they aren’t high school sweethearts). They live a life filled with food, laughter, and their two dogs Princess Leia and Haeven (Chupacabra).
